The annual award recognizes an outstanding unpublished, English-language book manuscript in American Studies and is open to members of EAAS national and joint-national associations. EAAS understands American Studies broadly and welcomes work in literary, cultural, political, historical, interdisciplinary, and related fields, including comparative and international approaches focused on the United States.

The author of the winning manuscript will receive:

• a €500 cash award, and
• publication with Brill in the EAAS book series European Perspectives on the United States.

Eligible manuscripts should be at least 80,000 words in length. Authors should submit the manuscript in PDF format together with a 1–2 page précis or abstract explaining its significance and original contribution to American Studies.
