The European Association for American Studies (EAAS) invites applications for the position of Co-Editor for Web Presence of its journal, the European Journal of American Studies (EJAS). Founded in 2006, EJAS is a peer-reviewed, quarterly, English-language journal that publishes interdisciplinary research on all aspects of American studies. The appointment will begin on 1 October 2026. The Co-Editor for Web Presence will receive a modest annual stipend.

Co-Editor for Web Presence of its journal, the European Journal of American Studies (EJAS). Founded in 2006, EJAS is a peer-reviewed, quarterly, English-language journal that publishes interdisciplinary research on all aspects of American studies.

The appointment will begin on 1 October 2026.

The Co-Editor for Web Presence will receive a modest annual stipend.

Responsibilities

  • Upload and publish four issues of the journal annually (each issue typically includes 5–15 articles and at least 5 book reviews)
  • Prepare and format content for online publication using established workflows and ensure the timely publication of all issues in accordance with the journal’s schedule
  • Maintain and update the journal’s website
  • Liaise with the publishing platform (OpenEdition/Lodel) on technical matters
  • Ensure consistency and quality of metadata and formatting across published materials

 

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience with Word-based editorial workflows in academic publishing
  • Demonstrated reliability and strong time-management skills
  • Familiarity with metadata standards and editorial quality control processes
  • Working knowledge of content management systems (CMS) used in scholarly publishing
  • Basic proficiency in HTML
  • Experience using Microsoft Word styles, templates, and macros
  • Willingness to participate in training workshops provided by OpenEdition/Lodel

 

Desirable:

  • Reading knowledge of French
